Storytelling has the power to force change. In a community, it can share perspectives, experiences and engage others. It often highlights our past as well as where we aim to go. It is the role of leaders and citizens to continue to tell their stories.
Storytelling has always been a primal form of communication that is just as much about connection as it is about movement and social values. Prime examples of this are local projects like the climate stories collection from Philipstown and the global compilations like that of the Climate Stories Project. As these collections build common threads in communities and stir broader conversation, we see that the need to highlight stories and experiences of people has never been more critical. Especially when it comes to facing climate change, we need to tell our stories. Now more than ever we need to talk about our homes, our environment and our communities. This kind of storytelling undeniably brings people together and sparks action. In the same vein, we at Joule Community Power want to add to the growing awareness of local stories and climate actions by building a community platform to exchange personal experiences, knowledge and ideas.
Motivated by our work in clean energy and addressing climate change from the bottom up, we're excited to announce a new project to document personal stories of how people are impacted by climate change in their daily lives and build a community platform for exchanging and showcasing these stories.
Starting with our frontline team who work relentlessly to engage municipalities and bring the benefits of renewables to more and more people, we will kick off interviews this week!
